War of the Roads

It's a Conspiracy I tell you!! Driving home from work today I encountered quite a sight. They decided to narrow, yes folks, narrow Winchester Road. Like it wasn't already in the running with Cajalco road for the worst road in the county!!! Apparently closing most of it back down to 2 lanes will help speed the improvements along. I am part of the jury that is still out & waiting to see results on that one. There are a few big flashing lights that were not there when I went to work this morning and some freshly painted lines on the road. They even managed to black out the old lines before covering them up. I was very impressed with the speed in which the shut down of my beautiful & already few extra lanes occurred. It is the fastest that I ever remember a road crew working. (No offense intended to the road crew workers, but come on, they have taken forstinkingever with this one project) I hope they are speedy and get it all nicely widened quickly and without losing any more driving space. I know I can't be the only person out there who is irritated by this shut down that could last until March 2009 according to the small print on the sign of which I just happened to catch a glimpse of, after I had to slam on my brakes to let somebody cut in line because they had missed the 1 big flashing arrow telling them to move it or lose it. Cross your fingers that I don't lose a bumper or side panel on my car tomorrow going to work!!

Courage, Respect & Truth

When given the choice between lying & telling the truth, ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH. Lying does not make you a better person, it only decreases other peoples trust in you. Telling the truth isn't always easy. Sometimes it is embarrassing or it gets you into trouble. When you lie your trust level goes back to zero. It is hard to keep it at a perfect 10 all the time. Goals are good-10 is always my goal. Have the courage to face yourself in the mirror each day with huge amounts of self respect. If you don't respect yourself, nobody else will. Do not lie by telling half truths. They always come out in the end.
Our challenge this month in book club was to be and to find time to just be creative. I was in the middle of doing a pictureless project, when reaching for a basket of stuff I pulled a full bottle of mod podge down upon myself. The lids on those babies are not bounce proof!! Only about 1 oz sloshed out, but boy did it hit anything far reaching it could. Amazingly enough it did not get on a single thing I was working on. It got on the basket of tools and some of the actual tools inside that sits on the far back, most away corner of my scrap desk. Go figure. So after a detour to clean up and have a rather lively discussion (with myself) of why the stupid jar fell off the shelf, I finished my project and have relocated the jar to a lower shelf. In a closed cupboard. Where it won't spill on my stuff.

Carson's Haircut

Carson got a haircut. In reality he got shaved. He is no longer the cute little mop we once had. Delaney & I got the worst dog owner ever award. Neither one of us knew he was so matted on his undercoat. Now we get to brush him every day. He is slowly learning to love it. I didn't recognize him when I walked in. Delaney almost cried when she saw him. He still has his fun loving personality. (translated he still a pain in the butt)

MY DAD IS NOT MY "BOYFRIEND"

So my Dad & I hang out a lot. SO WHAT! Today we were at the Re-hab home visiting Grandma & her nurse thought he was my husband. After we got that mess straightened out we went to see the AWESOME house my friend Jodi is building. She met us at the property with another girl from work (Sharon) and her son (Ryan). My dad was explaining how little shoe storage they really had in their walk in closets in comparison to the HUGE free standing wardrobe my mom has and Ryan told his mom how rude it was that my new boyfriend was talking about his wife in front of me!!!!! Of course Sharon had to call me when she got home to tell me. She was still laughing about it. I guess it is back to Grandpa t-shirts for my dad!!
